Violet Dawn, which released in August of this year, is published by Zondervan and is part of Brandilyn's new Kanner Lake series. There are two other books to come...Coral Moon, releasing in March of '07, and Crimson Eve, releasing in September of '07.

This is a unique marketing tool for the series, involving about 30 otherwriters (including several of our CFBA members), and eventually involving readers of the series who want to audition posts.

Myspace screwed up some of my formatting but it's been giving me such fits I'm giving up for now...I'll try to go back and fix the formatting later.
My is posted. After following Brandilyn's comments on reviews, I am curious. Do readers want less reviews that are more in depth studies? Or do they prefer the shorter style?

And then there will be people who don't like the way someone writes...well babe...tell me why you don't like it...then I can read the book and check it out for myself.
We're Christians...I don't want anybody writing something that isn't true from their Spirit.
Besides...remember all the bad reviews that The DeVinci Code got? Did it make the book tank? No it made the man a gazillionaire!
Be true to your Spirit, just don't be cruel, that's what sets us apart from the world!

Jim, thanks for your question. To explain to the rest of you, I think Jim was referring to my recents posts on my blog, www.forensicsandfaith.blogspot.com, about reviews--what they are, and what they're not, and how should we as readers and writers view them. (These were multiple posts that started 2-3 weeks ago, in September.) Jim, I appreciate an honest review--whether I agree with all its opinions or not. I think readers do also. My main concern with the longer reviews is that the reviewer needs to be very careful not to give away too much of the story. I like the premise of my books given and nothing more. You all have been fabulous about that. Thank you! I only read one CFBA review that told what happens at the end of the book, and because of that I chose not to link to it from my own blog. I do think readers should have just as much opportunity to be surprised as the reviewer had when reading. Otherwise they are cheated, rather than enlightened, by the review. Other than this, I agree with Bonnie--be honest.
