Bethany House (June 1, 2009)

by

Deeanne Gist

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Deeanne Gist, the bestselling author of A Bride Most Begrudging and The Measure of a Lady, has a background in education and journalism. Her credits include People magazine, Parents, and Parenting. With a line of parenting products called "I Did It!® Productions" and a degree from Texas A&M, she continues her writing and speaking. She and her family live in Houston, Texas.

Since the debut of those novels, her very original, very fun romances have rocketed up the bestseller lists and captured readers everywhere. Add to this two consecutive Christy Awards, two RITA nominations, rave reviews, and a growing loyal fan base, and you’ve got one recipe for success.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Wedding Is All Planned...
Someone Just Needs to Tell the Bride

In 1860s Seattle, redwoods were plentiful but women scarce. Yet a man with a wife could secure 640 acres of timberland for free.

Joe Denton doesn't have a wife, though. His died before she could follow him to Seattle and now the local judge is threatening to take away his claim. In desperation, he buys himself a Mercer bride--one of the eastern widows and orphans brought to the Territory by entrepreneur Asa Mercer.

Anna Ivey's journey west with Mercer is an escape from the aftermath of the Civil War. She signed on to become a cook--not a bride. When she's handed over to Denton, her stubborn refusal to wed jeopardizes his land. With only a few months before he loses all he holds dear, can he convince this provoking, but beguiling, easterner to become his lawfully wedded wife?

Just a comment/question regarding this list of "participants" in the tour. I see that some who post aren't listed and some (many) who are listed don't post. Is there a better way to include those who participate in the tour and also encourage participants to visit each other's sites and comment? Anyone have any thoughts?

I beg to differ with your opinion Lyn, because EVERYONE listed for a particular tour posts sometime during the three days of the tour.

We check each and every blog!

And those that don't post for three tours are suspended as members.

Only those who have ordered the book...THRU ME...to review it are on the list posted. The publishers like to see where their books went.

Others that choose to post for a tour WITHOUT HAVING READ the book post their links here, most of the time, that way the group, and the publishers can gather the extra participants.

Bonnie, Didn't mean to imply the system was broken, I just noticed a few sites that are either not working (for eg - "Amber at A Fiction-Filled Life" links to http://www.ambermiller.com/ which is no longer an active site and points to http://www.amberstockton.com/index.html which is the author's page and for blog tour purposes should be http://www.amberstockton.com/blog.html - but even then I see that there the most recent CFBA tour book is Deceptive Promises from May 19.

No big deal, just an observation that not all the links are current. You're doing a great job - so many plates spinning it's mind-boggling, lol - just thought you'd want to know. Keep up the great work. Lyn
